Frequently Asked Questions
How does FIFA World Cup Fantasy scoring work?
FIFA World Cup Fantasy uses a point-based system where your squad earns points for real on-pitch actions. Goals, assists, clean sheets, saves, and POTM awards earn positive points, while yellow cards, red cards, missed penalties, and own goals subtract points. The scoring is the same as UEFA EURO Fantasy.
How many points is a goal worth in World Cup Fantasy?
A goal is worth 6 points for a Goalkeeper or Defender, 5 points for a Midfielder, and 4 points for a Forward. Goals scored from outside the box earn an additional 1 bonus point.
How many teams are in the 2026 World Cup?
FIFA World Cup 2026 features 48 teams, the largest World Cup in history. They are split into 12 groups of 4, with the top 2 from each group and the 8 best third-place teams (24 total) advancing to the Round of 32.
When does the 2026 World Cup start?
The FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage kicks off on June 12, 2026. The final is scheduled for July 22, 2026. Matches are hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
What is the difference between World Cup Fantasy and FPL scoring?
World Cup Fantasy (and EURO Fantasy) share a very similar scoring system to FPL but with some differences: balls recovered earn points (1 per 3), POTM awards are included, and the goal points for GK/DEF differ slightly. Both use 60-minute clean sheet thresholds and the same deduction structure.
